Also, the video footage of Suge hanging out at Iovine's house and playing football with him at his house every Sunday :russ:

It was intriguing how Berman talked about how Jimmy really liked Suge and invested in Suge "the human being". Seems Jimmy really was friends with Suge and saw a different side of him.

Crazy when Berman asked Suge, why can't he leave the bullshyt alone, he told him, "it's all I know." Damn shame
.

Yeah this was very intriguing....It was great to see Suge finally be humanized in one of these documentaries.

You never really have heard about Jimmy and Suge's relationship and it was great to know that he was at least trying to guide him in the right direction.

I really wanted Dre to open up a bit more on his relationship with Suge. That's probably my only criticism of this documentary......It still feels like Dre is holding back.

We know all the stories of Suge, the beat downs that occurred at DR and how spending time in jail gave him time to think but I really never understood what went so wrong at Death Row that Dre who was a part owner of the company couldn't exert his influence into turning things in the right direction and felt the need to flat out leave everything behind. What was the turning point in Dre and Suge's relationship? I remember on the Behind the Music on Vh1 Dre said the situation that made him want to leave was when he saw and engineer get beat down for rewinding the tape too far.

I don't want to give anything away if you didn't watch all four parts, but ...

You could tell Dre was FUMING at the end when Suge was arrested for running over and killing that guy. Dre showed more emotion in his voice at that part than any other in the doc.

Anyway, I burned through all four of them. Very entertaining, very informative. Great use of music. Plus it's awesome that the filmmakers got access to just about everyone necessary for this piece (thanks, HBO).

Jimmy Iovine really a beast :wow: I come away with a much greater understanding of that guy after this doc. I mean, I always respected Dre because I knew his story. But Jimmy is a machine when it comes to taste-making.

Yeah I enjoyed that part. Yeah Dre was really bothered by that. Never seen Dre show that much emotion about anything in front of a camera.

I watched the entire thing Sunday night.

This is a decent documentary so far.. I've only seen the first 2 parts.

Dre was able to at least tap the surface of his abuse and somewhat own up to it. So iIf we're being objective here.... I feel like the interviewer/director should press Jimmy Iovine about his involvement in investing and promoting the prison and gun industry thru General Electric in the Clinton years by pushing the biggest gangsta rap label and content in the 90's. I know it doesn't happen but I will continue to watch...

Hughes made a great doc but it made Jimmy look like the angelic go getter instead of demonic entity he is.

man This documentary is destroying decade old conspiracy theories that even I believed for years

they shopped "THE CHRONIC" around to everybody and none of the labels wanted it!?!?

an album that changed all of MUSIC!?! what!?! :mindblown:

nah bruh....there was no evil white devil rubbing his hands together trying to destroy us...

jimmy iovine just so happened to be the dude who felt the shyt was good and put it out there through his label

that's not evil, that's smart business.
