I was reading an excellent post by one of the fine Brehs that had the gist:

"Fukc them. What have they done for us?"

Now. What would be a satisfactory answer? Nothing short of handing out cash would seem to qualify.

And we don't count the things done that are for everyone - of which we are a subset - only things which benefit us exclusively.

Even in personal situations we be like "let me get that for the low low" to like a small business person around the way.

So is this mindframe a secret trap? Shouldn't we not expect the hook up / handout / free lunch? Do we spend too much energy on seeking this kind of benefit and not enough on creating our own benefit?

I hate that we as a community always want "the hook up" from each other but pay full price to the white man. I've never seen anyone black arguing with a corporate store for "the hook up", but if you are an independent black business owner they act like your supposed to hook them up.
:gladbron:Yo u got that? Let me get it for the low low
:dame:I already told u the price
:lolbron:Cmon breh, we black. Hook me up!
:dame:You buying or talking? Cuz I'm all out of talk.
:sadbron:Why you doing me like that? fukk it I dont want it anyway!

Meanwhile.....with non-blacks.....
:gladbron:Yo you got that...how much?
:smugfavre:Full price
:gladbron:Take my money!

:gladbron:Yo you got that....how much?
:mindblown:Price on price tag. Hurry up and buy!!!
:gladbron:Take my money!

hook ups make you dependent, lazy and complacent. Gotta have a culture of rewarding hard work from a young age to create hard working ambitious people that will lift up neighborhoods. Hook up culture creates 35 year old men looking to be supported

Its not bad as ppl think ......alotta blacks are some of my best client's... But I also get the cheap ppl ....but hopefully I can cut them off and just deal with cool regulars...but that's coming

But the myth that blacks won't buy from blacks is a low, u just have to market to many ppl as possible and choose to work with the serious ppl

I stay away from local ppl...I don't even want nothing to do with anybody from here....
