The thing with the Ciroc deal is he was basically getting paid to party. When he was focused on music he had to have a higher level of self-discipline. He’s probably been using drugs recreationally for decades but when he was focused on music he couldn’t let it get out of control. Diageo was paying him regardless.
That's a great point. Once he got with Diageo, he wasn't really running a business anymore. He was just selling a lifestyle. He basically left the music industry alone, except to peddle Ciroc to the hot artists, and throw parties.
