From a legal perspective - there’s enough to convict Puff. It’s just a question of whether the jury thinks this sort of stuff is worth sending someone to jail over. Looks like a case of not being able to get him on domestic violence under the SOL so they went with RICO as a catch-all for behavior that isn’t heavily prosecuted among the rich. Basically, Cassie filing made the feds think they could make a name for themselves over this. To @duckbutta ’s point - the way it was hyped up in the media is why people’s expectations were so crazy. Basically, he doesn’t look like the supervillain they envisioned - just a piece of shyt so there’s a letdown. Ultimately, him being weird is getting more attention than his actions because people don’t think paying for sex is that crazy. There are literal escort websites and sugar daddy sites. Diddy’s defense is going to get up there and basically make that case and say that this whole trial is about convincing you he is a bad person and that because he is a bad person it’s okay to persecute him for otherwise innocuous activity. I think more than one person on the jury could buy that.
