Well they can argue he gave a specific reason for asking for that payment. He claimed they owed a debt. It wasn't like he just asked for 20k to not realase to tape to get money cause he dont need 20k. You can say he was emotional about the breakup and went about getting the money she legitimately owed him the wrong way, realized the error of his ways and gave them the money back. If he was really a bad guy he wouldn't have given the money back at all. Plenty of creditors and landlords have made worse threats to get their money. Doesnt make it right but happens everyday.
