Looks disgusting but i don’t blame people for trying to capitalize off ideas that are exclusively locked to Nintendo, its just not gonna work out. It won’t be the last splatoon clone just like we get a new smash clone every year

it's funny because I would welcome a splatoon "clone" much more than a smash because the idea is just too addicting to me. Ninjala did it very well with their unique spin on the ink mechanic by using bubble gum to traverse and craft weapons along with adding to a combo combat system.
this game however...
i thought looking few seconds in "lol I guess" then saw the specials and
Square has to be the funniest company out right now. Unless it's FF or DQ they don't care.

The thing they miss is that these games just aren’t charming. Half the reason people love Splatoon is becuase of the squid kids, they are highly recognizable, they cater to everyone (whatever gender, race, creed, or sexualization, doesn’t matter), and its marketable, you’re pretty much using half-anthropomorphic animals. You can market it the same way in Japan as you do in America. I’ve been saying for a while now the best candidate for a cartoon or movie outside of mario isn’t zelda or donkey kong, its Splatoon.
Right off the bat i knew this was some lazy GAAS thing just by the designs. Right away you failed at what nintendo did best. Then on top of that foam is a poor substitution for paint, paint is colorful and simple. You see bright flat splashes of green and orange, it sets the entire tone for the game, and how they market it.
This is just visually more striking
Every time someone tries to copy nintendo they always miss the most obvious things that make it successful. Thats why we’ll never get a multiplatform smash bros or mario kart that are actually good.
The problem with Square Enix is they have no quality control for games that they publish, which is most of their game releases including this. Anything not made internally is just pushed out the door. Thats why FF, DQ, 2d-HD, and their other in-house games usually review and sell better.
