Let's imagine for one second that a sea of reference tracks came out for someone w/ less influence & power, let's say "Joey Badass" . (You could add anyone at this point) Do you think people would be saying "He's still great"? Let's make this interesting (keep up..) Let's say Joey Bad ass is a rival to Drake because he disses him. What do you think the Drake fans would do? The same thing I see people in here making critical points about Drake. This is all about position yourself as a ally in the media.
This is a way to attempt to limit the damage.
The thing I don't care for is the hypocrisy. Certain rappers are given passes, certain rappers are given targets for writing. For some odd reason, a lot of the connected blogs/writers who get *exclusive content/info/passes to shows* they seem to be on the side of "it doesn't matter" Now you can run w/ that anyway you want to, but it doesn't change the obvious nature what is going on. Which is, protect the brand, PROTECT the BRAND. Good for them but it looks really suspect when the blog media/dj/radio/ cartel says "it doesn't matter" all in unison. Sure, it doesn't matter, because you got passes to the ovofest for the next ten summers on deck. Amazing how that works......good for you, I hope you enjoy the party. Now where I'm from that's called giving you the truth w/ no filter. And a lot of the fans can't take a honest statement like that.
FOH x 10 if you think Drake's team wouldn't use this allegation as a crutch in a battle against Jay Z,Kendrick (Take your pick). Drake said he read that cliche pseudo strategy book "48 Laws" I'd believe him
P.s. what do you know? I just wanted to see where this writers credentials in terms of if he's fielding questions like a balanced nuanced journalist or a white house press secretary for the BushAdministration. What do you know? Ovofest passes on deck. I swear some of you are so fukking gullible, it is scary.
