1. "Shut it Down" wasn't a single. I've never sat down & listened to the entire "Thank Me Later" album, so I've only previously heard the radio singles.

2. Back in 2010, I think I might've tuned out current music at the time & was mostly listening to old shyt.


I only recently got put onto "Shut it Down" becuz I've been a Drake music binge the last few months and I noticed:

A. That "Shut It Down" charted on the Billboard Hot R&B & Hip-Hop Songs chart for 10 weeks despite the fact it wasn't a single & that the "Thank Me Later" album era was years before the streaming era.

B. "Shut It Down" was a TikTok trend song a couple years ago. Just do a youtube search for something like "drake shut it down tiktok" to see for yourself. Those TikTok compilation videos is what got me hooked to the song.

3. The video in the OP of this thread kept showing up in my YouTube recommendations.
