The Ego has clearly shown us it's not our friend. So why do we still try to protect it?

Friends/relationships. Great opportunities. Fun. Memories. Even life. All those things have been or are capable of being lost because of our Ego. We live like puppets behind a PR crew dictating and robbing us of things just so we can satisfy these imaginary scenarios we create in our heads.

As I got older I realized maintaining your Ego is for the younger brehs because I don't have the energy anymore. Now that is not saying let people walk all over you or try to punk you or whatever. Always handle your business when necessary. But other than that I don't have the time or energy for it.

It is narcisstic and short sighted and has prevented me from enjoying life fully. I’ve lost six years of life due to living in deep fear of life, people, failure and success. it's always been like that because it's a part of human nature. it's just being exploited by a different group of people for the same reasons. plenty of people being exploited by others due to their ego.
