Erick Sermon's production was clean and crisp. He musta had some access to the finest recording studio instruments and engineers in the biz at the time.

Insomnia was "heavy boom bap", and he almost lost me there...
after that he came with the bouncy chit, and I rocks with it but it don't hit as hard.

Yes. Some guys used the boom bap so heavy that it outweighed everything production wise. By we loved the thump so much we favored the trunk rattle over the overall sound.
