alot of those old pre-historic games have aged wonderfully.

i was messing around and going thru some of my 1st sega games one day, and man when i threw on that pat riley basketball, i couldnt put the sticks down.

and i remember double dribble being better. im just missing a couple plugs for my NES.

i think its the fact that 16 bit & under games are more addictive for whatever reason. then mix that with nostalgia and there you go.

As a youngin I loved Jordan vs. Bird (MS-DOS) until I lost my event pass and couldn't play it anymore. :mjcry:

NBA In the Zone, and Kobe's NBA Courtside were two of the most underrated basketball games of all time. NBA Courtside was NBA 2k before NBA 2k's existence
that NBA SHOWTIME or whatever it was ccalled the kobe one. is where 2k got their story line mycareer/myplayer from. all that outside stuff. they had the good ideas way back when but their graphics and gameplay sucked.

I still play Double Dribble every so often. It's a classic. I remember my cousin having the Larry Bird vs Dr J game as a kid. :wow:
one thing that most people didnt know about double dribble is that you could do a 720 in mid air or a 360. you have to spin your guy buy quickly hitting all the directions with your controller. i would spin off of guys mid air and go into that dunk animation. i'm by far the greatest drouble dribble player i know. lol

nba showtime was the PS1 era's nba jam. i think youre referring to a different game.

btw, yall ever play The Life? i got volume one & volume two for like a dollar apiece recently. im still trying to get thru the pre-draft workout drills.

its like 989 sports never existed anymore.

i dont know what the numbers were looking like, but i remember shootout & nba live having a big rivalry in the PS1 era. same with madden & gameday for football.

Inside Drive 2004 might be the most slept on bball title ever. 2k isn't the game it became last gen with its influence.

Double Dribble remains my favourite basketball video game. Loved the sound of three pointer falling. Sounded like a bomb going off.
