i wasnt a fan of it. really after the black album i dont fukk with any jay :manny:

the black album was some big news. people thought he was really gonna retire from the rap game which never happened before. now he just looks like an old man who needs the public eye too much.

hes still a legend, but if he woulda went out of the game after this, he woulda been an icon

"could've been a legend"
Oh so now he's not gonna be a legend even though most of his fans hail WTT and AG classics or at the very least very dope albums

"overstayed"
Yes, you are the judge who decides how long artists are allowed to be here.
Jay was here for 8 years up until TBA. To put in perspective how short his career would've been if he retired in 2003; Jeezy has been here for 8 years.

nikka, when the fukk has any artist retired in his mid 30s and peak?
We all knew Jay wasn't gonna retire, he loves hiphop too much. He said he was gonna retire after RD, Vol.2, TBA.
If cats didn't call him out for faking his retirement with TBA he would probably still be saying it.

"Could've been an icon".
Man Jay wasn't as big as people like to think in 2003.
He's one of the biggest celebrities in the world in 2012, in 2003 he was one of the biggest rappers in the states, in 2012 white people ain't mad when he's dissing Elvis.
Clinton is like I need to eat dinner with my nikkas Al Green, Jay-z, Obama :takedat:. fukking around with Jeezy eating wings with mayors. In 03 he would just've been a great rapper, maybe the greatest. In 2012, everything from 2003 is intact and much more is added.

jay was BIG when the black album dropped bro. respected.

now he's another celebrity that never wanna leave

Big in the projects maybe, but let's be honest nobody gives 2 fukks about our broke ass brethren :yeshrug:

He's probably just as big in the east coast hoods, but a lot bigger in the south.

I don't know what the fukk you are talking about, but I've been a jay fan, what cats on here would call a splendid stan :leon:. If you wanna talk shyt about what Jay would've been or could've been you need more weight to discuss that shyt with me :birdman:.

people used to only compare jay with rappers like 50, Jada, Eminem and Nas. Nowadays they only compare him with dead people, R&B legends, Pop legends and Nas.
