Dana Barros-
Size 5'11" 163lbs
School: Boston College
Draft: 1989, 16th overall by Seattle Supersonics
Teams: Supersonics 76ers Celtics Pistons
Accolades: 1995 all star 1995 most improved player
Career Stats: 10.5ppg, 3.3apg, 1.9rpg
Dana Barros was definitely one of my favorite players to follow growing up...he was a short quick PG that could shoot the lights out...i remember him most with the 76ers.
I actually learned something new doing research on him....he was Gary paytons back up in Seattle before he was traded to Charlotte for Kendall gill in 93.
Then he was traded to the 76ers just 2 days later for Hersey Hawkins...In Philly he started played 31 minutes a game and damn near double his ppt from 7.8 to 13.3.
In 94-95 he balled out averaging 20.6ppg 7.5apg and 3.3rbg on 49%fg and 46%3fg
He even dropped 50 on the Rockets and had a triple double against Orlando...continued from the previous season he set an NBA record of 89 straight games of making a 3pt fg that lasted almost 20 years until Kyle Korver broke it in 2013
After that season he pretty much became a journey man until he retired in 2002
In 2006 he was an assistant coach at northeastern University for 2 months then resigned to become the director of recreation for the city of Boston
Nowadays he's working in the media relations department for the Celtics and he's a "basketball insider" for NESN
Dude was a staple on NBA live whenever I needed a 3 I was going to him
