It’s essentially a JRPG for those who wouldn’t like JRPG’s normally.

Kinda like what Eminem is to rap, E33 is to that sub genre.

This is one of the most bizarre takes I've ever seen. You just described the "Final Fantasy" series for the last 15 years.

Most traditional RPGs writing, music, art direction, etc. fell off a cliff over the last 20 years. "E33" at it's core isn't reinventing the wheel but it does all those things exceptionally well.

That alone is why it's getting the nods these other RPGs aren't.

I would expect such a dog sh*t hot take from some one that hasn't played the game....how the f*ck is it your GOTY and you're telling people it's the Eminem of RPGs?

The game plays exactly the same as "Metaphor", "Persona", and damn near any traditional RPG from the last 30 years. It just has better writing, world building, music, etc. That's why it made such a splash.

"It's a JRPG for people that don't like JRPGs" is especially goofy when devs that make JRPGs love the game.
