The generic headset for X1 is WOAT...someone put me on to one to cop

You'll need the adapter that they sell separately for $20 at which point you can use any wired headset you want. I went ahead and got the Xbox One stereo head set for $30 (or something like that) on sale and it came with the adapter. They sound decent, no where near as good as the Sony golds, but they work fine.

i use Sony Golds on PC and they are amazing.
