JPP when healthy can be a problem but that back injury set him back. Only 26 years old and can get to the QB, Reese sign that man long term.
Giants are doing this with JPP because: They want to keep him as a cornerstone, but he can't stay healthy.
So they can't afford to throw a full deal at him, unless he proves he can be right for 16 games. But they also can't afford to let him walk, because their D-Line is already a weakness.
understandable, but you'd think in a world where a much older D Ware can get 2 years of guaranteed money that JPP could. its an interesting scenario, hes not a guy you can give a mega-deal to but could never live with letting him go either
Oh he DEFINITELY CAN get a mutli year deal. If the giants had let him walk... he signs a significant deal for 3-4 years, purely on spec. But the giants don't want to be the team to do that, so they're gonna force him to play for a year for HUGE money, then make that tough decision next year. They're basically paying to punt.
Similarly, I feel like the Cowboys might be hedging on this video and a possible (POSSIBLE BECAUSE NOTHING HAS BEEN SUBSTANTIATED YET) suspension.
