Except for the fact that this is a period peace. I would be going in waiting for Coltrane, Miles, Bill Evans Trio type shyt. It took place in the Jazz age. I gotta hear about :scusthov: selling kis and shyt now during one of the most celebrated words of American literature put to film.

:comeon:

lol.. i feel you.

I think outside of the 1 or 2 Jay songs.. the rest of the songs fit.

I didnt mind the Jay songs tho.

Just saw this and that shyt kinda irked me. I didn't really mind the fact that it was modern music but there were at least 4 different Jay-z tracks all in the first half of the film. At first I was like "no church in the wild" thats cool, but then another Jay song and another. shyt was a bit overboard and got too much to ignore. They even had "Izzo" playing from a car during one scene, at that point I thought to myself, can this dude be any more egocentric? Really kinda fukked up the vibe. Imagine watching Kill Bill and its got back to back RZA songs.

The second half of the film was much better, they still had modern music but eased of the pedal a little. Like I said, I didn't mind the concept but the execution was bad
