Here is parts of his recruiting diary from back in the day

Florida State: I ordered a steak and a lobster tail. The lobster tail was like $49.99. I couldn't believe something so little could cost so much. The steak didn't even have a price. The menu said something about market value. I was kind of embarrassed so I didn't order a lot. 'But then I saw what the other guys were ordering, I was like, `Forget this.' I called the waiter back and told him to bring me four lobster tails, two steaks and a Shrimp Scampi. It was good. I took two boxes back with me to the hotel.'' They had jerseys with our names on it. They even had my No. 17. I told them `Isn't that number retired for [Heisman winner] Charlie Ward? Coach [Bobby] Bowden was like, `For you Willie, we'll bring it back.''

Miami:
Coach Larry Coker picked him up at his Carol City home in a white Cadillac Escalade, then put Williams up at the Mayfair House Hotel in Coconut Grove. Williams' room featured a jacuzzi on his balcony. Following the campus visit, the recruits boarded a bus with the coaching staff and headed for the Orange Bowl ... ''We'd get to a red light and I would hold on because the bus driver would just take it,'' he said. 'I was thinking the bus driver was crazy. Coach Coker was like, `Willie, we've got police escorts.'"

Auburn:
''The girls at the party were much better than the farmer girls we'd see all day around campus,'' Williams said. ``I was kind of worried all Auburn had to offer was those farmer girls that talked funny. But the girls at the party weren't farmer girls at all. I thought they must have bused them in from Miami.''

Florida:
''I ate so many meatballs, the people there started looking like meatballs ... 'The first night I was OK with eating at the stadium. But when they told me we're going to eat there again, I was a little disappointed. I was like, `Take us to Red Lobster or something.' That's when I pretty much made up my mind. I can't live in a place that don't have any restaurants. What am I going to do — fly home to eat shrimp?''

I found an old board that saved the the whole thing

“How good was he?” asks Joe Zaccheo, Pace’s coach. “He was probably the best ever at that position. The kid came to me at 6-foot-3, 240 pounds, and the first time I put a clock on him he ran a 4.3 40. I said, ‘Get the hell out of here! Do it again!’ He did it again. And again. The kid was just a freak.”

Says Beason: “You want to know the truth? Some guys need to leave Miami to succeed. They need to go far away, to a nice campus with none of the distractions of home. When you come from the inner-city like Willie did, too often it’s about fast money. It’s not about hard work, about maintaining. Everyone tells you how great you are, everyone feeds you lines, but they don’t pull for you to keep striving. They just feed off you. If you’re not careful, it brings you down. I’m not sure he could ever focus.”

"Williams had spent much of his life as a masterful bulls--- artist.

He told people what they wanted to hear, and usually was believed. Miami’s coaches, however, were used to working with kids from the ghetto and projects. They knew fast talk from real talk, and called Williams’ repeated bluff.

“He couldn’t get it right,” says Don Soldinger, Miami’s longtime running backs coach. “His skills—unmatched. But he just didn’t give a s---. He was a dog. He didn’t care. That’s the frustrating part. I mean, wake the f--- up. You just wanted to slap the s--- out of him"

The more you read the more you find out nobody knows if dude was really a bum or not, also the more you read you start to think "They villanized this nikka for getting into a fight in a club, setting off fire extinguishers, and hugging a bytch from the back and not letting go:dahell:?I know it was all within a 5 hour span but damn:snoop:"...Most of this is kid shyt that could happen to anybody and might be considered having fun out there if your a little smaller, little lighter:mjpls:...calling him a thug based on that? The home invasions are another story, but they were non violent home invasions:manny:

Its obvious they just realized dude was a bum who only had athletic potential but no focus on the game of football itself..

any highlights of this guy? Or what yr recruiting class was he?

Hard to get a specific year for him because he transferred high schools like annually but early 2000's with Miami is basically his timeframe

Literally only thing on YouTube I can find of him which doesn't say a whole lot but he looked like the biggest and fastest kid out there :wow:

Also from an article on B/R it says that you could pretty much pencil him in for 10+ tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble per game in HS

my cousin played with him at carol city. Said the boy was a straight up freak of nature.

He played purely on athleticism and didn't have to think at all, which worked in high school. but if you know Randy Shannon you know he doesn't play that shyt in his 4-3 defense.

From the little he played at UM he showed flashes but he was impatient and was just trying to get to the next level to cash those NFL checks. That impatience led to him transferring to small schools and doing a whole bunch of stupid shyt. Waste of supreme talent.

if WW was active in this social media era :wow:

he was good when he played, but not to his talent. Canes had another unrelated Williams at the same time, Leon. 5 star like WW but didnt do much either. no one got less out of a top class than Coker
I guess no recruit had ever really shared what went on during recruiting trips, they must've thought these kids were getting peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with Capri suns on their visits:mjlol:. people were legit shocked and appalled

Was Leon Williams a 5 star? He was steady, not spectacular at UM but spent a couple years on the Browns
