Stuff like this is common sense but it's one of those things people in power are uncomfortable discussing because of the implications.

That lead poisoning causes problems to kids brains/nervous systems and affects performance in school and the ability to regulate their emotions etc is scientifically indisputable. These effects are IRREVERSIBLE and the lead can be stored in your body for YEARS so that even if the child is protected from further exposure, years down the road the lead stored in his/her organs/bones etc can begin to leech back into the bloodstream.

I always think about Freddie Gray who grew up in a home with high lead levels in Bmore.
