shyt be tempted to sell then you realize you got nowhere to go lol
That’s the main driver in nobody moving to an upgraded place “like we are supposed to”. Fk I look like leaving my $400k loan at 3.3% to a $800k loan on 9% :pachaha:

We staying in this house at least 15 years opposed to the 5-7 we planned on.

Bunch of older folks at my job now want to downsize, kids are grown.

But they got nowhere to go to and they don't want to rent out the other rooms.
Yup, sell and end up paying more for the sake of downsizing. Only thing that makes sense is selling and then retiring in a cheaper country where you can buy something cash and still have a ton of money in savings to pair with social security and any other retirement income

real estate is a mess.

Houses that 5 years ago where 500K are now 1.1+ million.
It won't get better

People need to brace for impact cuz we are going to hit a wall hard. I grew up in a developing country with hyper inflation in the 90's

This is the closest I've seen North America look to the so called third world. The middle class is disappearing.
