Completely different times then as well... that whole culture of the heels getting cheered AT ALL wasn't a thing in WWF. If that started happening, people got turned. Same thing with faces that got booed. So Vince definitely wasn't gonna have Hogan in a position where the heel was getting cheered as much or more than him.

I have Jake’s DVD from like 15 years ago where he told this story. Hoegan was the golden goose at the time, feuding with Jake would’ve turned the crowd on him and potentially hurt business in Vince’s eyes so he axed it. I don’t think the Snake Pit where he DDT’d Hoegan has ever been aired actually

Jake was a master of psychology. He knew how to get fans to boo him. Fans didn't really cheer him when he turned on Warrior or feuded with Savage. the program should have happened.
