I wouldnt call it ignorance per se...the only reason those guesses were so far off is because of deliberate mass media distortion clouding the perception of the masses..

for example widely televised shows like

make it seem like this happens alot..same thing with all the others....the average person is manipulated by these deliberate distortions so its not their fault for not seeing things as they really are.

whats up with Italy beating us tho...i demand a recount

If I'm not mistaken, Germany has a lot of anti-hate laws so it makes sense that they're more aware of things such as these
