People are saying "Kendrick is this generations Pac"
How so?
He might be reminiscent of ONE SIDE of Pac. Kendrick might be the closest thing to conscious 2Pac in terms of being a artist genuinely describing the way he sees street life, politics/pro-Black raps, being a poet of sorts, etc. But Kendrick isn't making stuff like "Hit Em Up", "Ambitionz As...", "Thug Luv", or even "I Get Around" type songs.
To say that he is the new Pac is denying who 2Pac was 75% of the time. Let's be real, Pac isn't here anymore because the "thug life" aspect of himself was the one he chose to embrace more often than not. Musically, that's who he was more often than not.
Anybody who was a fan when 2Pac was at his peak, would disagree with saying "Kendrick is the new 2Pac"
I'd rather just let Kendrick be Kendrick rather than make knee-jerk comparisons.
