He just happened to be "fishing" in the same body of water they later found the corpse in miles away from where they lived, then changed his appearance and tried to flee to Mexico?

I forgot all the evidence from that trial it was so long ago. But I guess they feel theirs enough evidence to create some sort of doubt. I don't see them taking on a case like this unless they feel theres something there. Trying to clout chase can back fire on them badly.
he did it but the evidence was really slim
the police came out early saying they wanted to know if anyone from the public saw him at the marina, apparently it opened way to the possibility laci had kidnappers that saw this and dumped her body there.
not my opinion but thats how his defense argues it.
i believe they are taking on his case based on numerous witnesses from their neighborhood stating they saw laci walking her dog while scott was fishing.
They're about 50/50 on overturnings, and most of their overturnings are due to DNA implicating someone else or bad eyewitness testimony.
They may have an ace in the hole, but I doubt it.
