Nas is a son of jazz/blues, there is nothing wrong with paying homage.

Same way Illmatic has been paid homage a million times.

Not only is that a jazz record, it's an incredibly rare jazz record. It's likely that Nas' dad (a jazz musician) had the record in his collection when Nas was young.
