NBA Rumors: Sacramento Kings Reportedly Trying to Trade for Rajon Rondo

The Rajon Rondo rumors probably won't stop until after the trade deadline.

The star point guard has yet to take the floor for the Boston Celtics this season, but his name has been thrown around in plenty of trade rumors. Publicly, Danny Ainge has maintained that he intends to keep Rondo as the franchise cornerstone. Whether or not Ainge truly believes this and doesn't look to trade Rondo is another story.

The latest team to be thrown into the Rondo rumors? Strangely enough, the Sacramento Kings, according to the Latino Post. The team that just traded for Rudy Gay would be throwing a huge amount of its roster at the Celtics in this proposal, where Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore, Marcus Thornton, Jason Thompson, and two first-round picks would be swapped for Rondo.

Don't hold your breath, folks.

Isaiah Thomas is a very good point guard, and Ben McLemore has potential to be a solid scorer in the league. The first-round picks would be great, but this is about where the good news ends. The Celtics would be stuck paying Thompson $6.75 million through 2016-2017, according to HoopsHype. Thompson and Thornton would bring very little to Boston; the Celtics would have to dump Gerald Wallace on the Kings to take them back.

It's an interesting deal, and you have to give the Kings credit for trying to make some moves as a small-market team. This deal probably won't happen, although we know Danny Ainge loves to have draft picks.

Side note: Imagine Rondo, Gay, and DeMarcus Cousins trying to play together? The dysfunction would be unbelievable. A fight between Cousins and Rondo would seem inevitable.

At this point, the Celtics will probably wait to see how Rondo looks when he returns before rushing into anything. Of course, the rumors will never end.

Make it happen Pete!

I was gonna say, Sacramento has a squad RIGHT NOW :obama:
If they pulled this deal off? Real talk, they in the convo to meet up with my Wizkids in the finals :tu:
And gerald wallace would be included too if Rondo came?
They would have as good a chance as any team to go all the way.
Not saying it would pan out that way, but potentially it could. If I was a Kings fan, I'd be excited as fukk right now either way

i still dont believe this rumor. give up two good young players and 2 draft picks for a guy coming off a major injury and hasnt even taken the court yet ?

on top of that rondo is a headcase and you know he and cousins probably wont get along.

That would be a terrible fukking trade for the Kings. :heh:

Thomas alone is as good as Rondo's overrated ass. But then to throw in McLemore, Thornton, Thompson and two first rounders is laughable.

The Wizards are a funny team that you can't really pin down.
What I mean is they are not a team that has played there best basketball yet
Who's to say when they do peak, that they won't be a real problem?
We've had little problem beating Miami over the last 2/3yrs. And Indiana is entering year 2 of being an issue
Once the Wizards are healthy, and all the players know there roles? They as deep as they wanna be
Bradley Beal in particular is the X factor. Can score with the best of them. So because of him, the sky is the limit
And as long as he continues down the path he's been going, that will make John Wall so much more deadly
Then add NeNe and Gortat and Webster + Ariza & Booker and we got solid pieces there.
Glen Rice Jr. Otto Porter Jr. are wild cards with crazy potential. Jan Vesely proving hes a VERY DECENT BIG who defends and runs the floor which is what the Wiz do best with fastdontlie wall running the break

The team is very deep, very young, and is very real when it comes to wildcard teams.
I'm not saying its a lock they gonna make it, but it is a lock that they will be a factor come playoff time
Depending on how they are seeded. Anything is possible. Miami probably won't have Wade healthy, and shyt, Lebron one of these days is gonna go down too.

Maybe Indiana has the same happen, and the Wiz then start looking like favorites. Any and all of these scenarios could happen. TBC...
