draft picks in the NBA only matter so much....the Knicks are in the best market and city in the country...once they get by a bad GM how is their future bad? posters here make it out to be that way....its not. playing in NYC is like a doctor at John Hopkins it doesnt get better.
i dont get how NYC teams do bad. ur the best city in the world with the most money....its not that hard
The Knicks haven't won a title in 30 years because they're in perpetual win now mode, and when you're saddled with bad management that can be a disaster. That's why the Knicks handed over 100 million to Amare (without insurance), a 3 year contract to JR Smith (coming off knee surgery), and gut the roster to get Carmelo Anthony. They forfeited the future to add players that were overpaid and/or fugazi.
Draft picks do matter because in a league mandated by the salary cap, young cheap talent is gold. They're easy trade assets and if they're good, they save cap room which can be used to get other players in free agents. Andre Drummond is grabbing double-doubles every night and the Pistons only pay him 2.5 million this year. That's a godsend.
