The "Knockout game" is happening in the bay now?

LOS GATOS (KPIX 5) – Police are looking for a man suspected of sucker punching a mother outside a Los Gatos dance studio Monday afternoon. Authorities said the attack could be related to a recent phenomenon known as the “knockout game.”

“We heard a commotion like a thunk and a scream,” dance instructor Mariana Sorbal told KPIX 5.

The scream came from a woman outside the Dance Attack studio on the 14000 block of Blossom Hill Road. According to Los Gatos / Monte Sereno Police, the woman fell to the ground after she was punched. Her injuries were not life threatening and she was treated at the scene.

Witnesses said the suspect left the area on foot toward Harwood Road, police said.

The woman could be the latest victim of the so-called “knockout game,” where unsuspecting people are knocked out at random with one punch, for the sheer thrill of it.

Police said a man in his 20s clocked the woman in the face. Sorbal said the victim just dropped off her daughter at the studio.

“It was in the middle of the day. It wasn’t even dark yet, it was full of people. So obviously they’re trying to look for attention,” Sorbal said. “It’s kind of scary, that someone thinks it’s a game to go ahead and punch people.”

Police describe the suspect as an African-American adult in his early-to-mid 20s, standing 5’9” to 6’ tall with slender build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap backwards.
