Bella is also very very terrible as adult ellie. Not even speaking on her appearance, the writing, flaky accent and non emotion on her face is just bad

Im just not feeling the urgency and dread in general. The show tonally is not hitting the darker depths of the game.

i felt like when Joel died in the game, they was ready to ride on WLF the next day and nothing was gonna stop them. In the show they make it seem like a family roadtrip and the kids don’t get to stop at disney land

the show even being on hbo feels way too light for what this game is.

Im just not feeling the urgency and dread in general. The show tonally is not hitting the darker depths of the game.

It has the feeling of a high budger CW show

yeah, Ellie in the game felt like even outside of Joel dying she had matured a lot. It wasn’t just different writers either because in the flashbacks ellie still acts like 14 year old ellie.

i think a major problem of the show is they are trying to course correct on the discourse the 2nd game got and they are over-correcting. Druckman/Haley got it right the first time, now they are fukking up over explaining the themes of the game.

they literally had that old asian man explain what the game was about in the town hall meeting.

The game was an absolute classic the show is mid asf. Season one was much better for whatever reason.
