right now it's the people that regulate weed, not the government. Safe to say that we've been pretty good at it thus far.
do we REALLY want the government to regulate this for us? how can they be trusted? How long before marijuana is bought and sold to the highest bidder? What then?

And don't think that people will just resort to their local dealers because there won't be any local dealers selling weed. Now that weed is regulated and taxed, it now becomes a federal crime to sell it independently. Much harder sentence. So if you want it you're gonna have to buy it retail, like every other nonsense drug you see on TV.
