The more I think about Ospreay's injury the more I think we're being worked. Maybe there is something there and they're overblowing it, but hear me out.
He's almost certainly going to win the title at All In next year and everyone knows it. Even if everyone's broadly happy for it to happen they need to start injecting whatever doubt they can between then and now.
When they created the logo for All In: Texas they knew and they did everything but explicitly say it to tell us that Hangman was going to be the hero. The story started at All In 2024 (DB winning) and ran for a year. By the Owen final half of the fans thought Ospreay was winning. People were still making Darby theories in the week of All In.
This year's arc started with Ospreay getting taken out by Gabe Kidd at All In Texas. He might make it beaten up or in some reduced form playing for sympathy at his home PPV (the O2 is a stone's throw from Rainham), but the message is going to be we're just lucky to have him here at all.
Whatever happens in between to decide the defending champ etc will happen but it all ends with him winning the belt at Wembley in front of a crowd who have been conditioned to think his neck might snap at any moment.
