Just watching these videos on YouTube from MelzTV, ZackTV, DJAkademiks Chiraq vids, YouTube has created a whole lane for local rappers to do well. These videos get tens of thousands of views. No one claims to knows who these rappers are but the comments and views on these videos say otherwise.

Still paying for studio time, mainstream like videography, clothes, probably even paying to “get booked”

I feel like most of them are in development deals anyway.. it’s like after local rapper “X” becomes mainstream we find out he was signed to 300 the whole time

That's not what I meant though. I mean that now local rappers are getting more exposure than they ever did before to the point that there seems to be a whole sub-industry for them.
