That’s a pick swap that has a lot
Of convoluted shyt in it .

If im Orlando I already got two cornerstones…I’m not gonna hold them back for a 5% chance at getting a guy who might become an all star in 4 years .
The Suns and Wizards are still going to be terrible and more than likely be a top 10 pick in a better draft.

If they trade Lamelo they need to just pack up the franchise at that point
if he can't stay healthy and we're fine with admitting that, then yeah 4 firsts and a salary offramp is exactly what the convo is gonna be

why wait til he's chasing hoes around the city crashing out every 3 months like zion

The wizards technically own the suns pick tho right

Yeah that pick isn’t straight forward ownership like Shams presented

Wizards have first rights to swap with Phoenix if the Wizards pick is top 8, then Memphis will now have the rights to swap

But both the Suns & Wizards will probably be lottery anyway

So the pick probably isn’t going to the grizzlies then right? I’m still confused because Ik if the wizards drop to 9 then the pick goes to the Knicks or something right?

It will. The Wizards just get first dibs on the swap.

Both teams are terrible and going to be the lottery anyways. Just a matter of where it falls.

Besides, Memphis just need teams to think that it’s that valuable to help move it.

paolo as the primary ballhandler is a big reason why orlando's offense never threatens a serious defense. suggs is a quality defender and athletic guard, but that offense has never built traction.

i don't even dislike suggs tbh. he just shouldn't be your lead guard the same way that a young lowry shouldn't be

Yeah. They need Paolo to become a top ten player by the latest two years to make this trade look good.

Put it like this, if those rights applied to the 2025 draft this is how it would’ve gone

6th pick - Wizards keep their pick
10th pick - Suns pick goes to Grizzlies
16th pick - Magic pick goes to Grizzlies
18th pick - Grizzlies pick goes to Hornets

Grizzlies are getting the pick but if by chance the Wizards finish in the top 8 but lower than the Suns, then they’ll get the Wizards pick

Hornets will get whichever pick is lowest

I think we are well past the point of Paolo playing off ball in favor of a ball dominant guard. He is who he is and that’s a projected top 15 player for the foreseeable future
