The Modern Internet is a piece of SH*T :hhh:

The paranoia, mistrust, domination by companies that want to spy on you, the scams, the BS.
Yup! People have learned to use the internet to scam, pump and dump and shill shyt for you to buy/invest in.

Investors and "people of authority" figured out how to use social media to manipulate the public and have all types of money to hire bots to carry it out.

Additionally, anybody can be anything on the internet. Got grown people out here not knowing they're arguing with a 14 year old kid who thinks they're an adult and even taking financial advice from people who they don't suspect is 16 years old.

Outside of that though, I've learned so much from the internet: learned the skills to build my career in software engineering, learned how to fix shyt myself, learned more recipes, etc.

I miss the old pornhub and the old tumblr and the old limewire :mjcry:

Those security measures are necessary. Better than getting hacked

To much anonymity.

People can say and do what ever with no real consequences.

I think in the last decade the internet has become a vice for most people and the biggest form of escapism.

I’d say the worst thing today with the internet is click bait.
Believing the internet is "too anonymous" is literally willful ignorance in this day in age. Google makes it no secret they spy on you with your phone/tablet/laptop microphones and cameras literally all the time. You can go look for yourself and see everything you've ever searched while logged on Google and hear all of the times Google started recorded the audio in your phone at awkward times depending on your privacy settings. But even if you change your privacy settings, its obvious they are still recording everything but not letting you know upfront.

If you can't tell that your phone is spying on you all the time, you are too far gone. The YouTube algorithm literally mocks you half the time based on what can be seen and heard on your end through your smart device as well as your extensive search history and browsing patterns.

And this lack of privacy all stems from the Patriot Act that allows American citizens to be spied on to make sure they are not terrorists. But big corporations like Facebook, Google, Apple, McDonald's, Amazon etc. are not the CIA or FBI supposedly looking out for your safety. No the Patriot Act was the Trojan Horse to destroying privacy for the average American citizen. This is no "conspiracy theory". All of this can be easily fact checked.

And WiFi technology is far more advanced than most simpletons can fathom. The problem with the modern internet is people have outsourced their entire ability to use their brain to it. People no longer have to commit anything to memory or think critically.

It's a big part of why everyone is something stupid these days. Have you seen the YouTube videos where Gen Z retards can't name two countries outside America? Can't tell you how many presidents America has had. We are headed for some dark times.
