throwing very well, just no ops. no doubt in my mind hes still a premier closer, hes right in the middle of a 3 year 30 deal its steep but if im Detroit i would not trust it to anyone thats not elite. when you have the ability to win a ring and your so very bad at one position, you have to address it

They were paying Valverde $9 million last year. Papelbon is a bargain compared to that.

Detroit's farm system is ass, so I'm not sure who Philly would want for Paps, but I'd want them to do it in a heartbeat if something was on the table. Dombrowski did nothing to address the bullpen in the offseason and we know Illitch doesn't care about spending. Won't get my hopes up though. :fukkthis:

its an interesting story, im an Oakland fan but live/raised in S. Jersey so im very up to par with the team

do they keep Lee to maintain a solid SP core, or gets a kings ransom for him? i say take the prospects, this team is going to crash and crash hard in the coming years. thought they might scrap together a run this year but between injuries/overall pathetic plate discipline/bad bullpen they are clearly not a playoff team

they have to take the prospects or keep praying that utley and howard and rollins and hamels and roy halladay will be in their primes again. the latter will never happen, and they really have no one in the system that can keep the team competitive

i honestly hope all the players go to a legit contender, at least roy and cliff
