Everyone has it in their mind that in order for rape to be legit, it has to be the cartoonish Lifetime depiction wherein its violent, instantly traumatizing, and a huge exploit of trust and vulnerability. When the reality is that rape (like human sexuality is as a whole) fukks with your head so much that a lot of people don't even realize they've been raped until much later, after its happened. Especially since rapists tend to be someone who was pretty close to the victim. shyt they may be happily courting/dating/married to their rapist.

The sooner we stop viewing rape as some unspeakable monstrous crime that only evil people commit, the sooner we realize how frequently it occurs. Rape is more akin to domestic violence is what im saying.
