I always joke Jay-Z stopped Outkast from getting the number 1 album twice, and Jay hops on an Outkast album and they finally hit number 1 lol

Is that more often than not, he went against heavy hitters who dropped the same day, still was able to debut #1. And this isn’t even counting the collab albums.

Dynasty - Stankonia (Outkast), All That You Leave Behind (U2)

The Blueprint - Love & Theft (Bob Dylan), Silver Side Up (Nickleback), Satellite (P.O.D.), Glitter (Mariah Carey), Ghetto Fabolous (Fabolous)

Blueprint 2 - 3D (TLC), Under Construction (Missy Elliot), Riot Act (Pearl Jam), Away From The Sun (3 Doors Down) Dutty Rock (Sean Paul), Loyalty (Fat Joe)

The Black Album - In The Zone (Britney Spears), Beg For Mercy (G-Unit)

Kingdom Come - Pac's Life (2Pac), The Blue Carpet Treatment (Snoop Dogg), Daughtry, Greatest Hits (P.O.D.)

American Gangster - Ultimate Hits (Garth Brooks), Greatest Hits (Nas), Exclusive (Chris Brown), B.A.R.S. (Cassidy)

The 718
Kast's success with Aquemini though is underrated. They went 2X platinum with the highest charting single ("Rosa Parks") peaking at #55.
Yeah OutKast was big within hip-hop from day 1 as Southernplayalistic and ATLiens both went platinum, Stankonia is just when white people got hip
