I am tired of seeing NBA gametime repeated time after time after time on NBA TV :beli::beli: There is so much dead air on that channel and so much history that true basketball fans would appreciate. I see classic games here and there, but everything is so few and far between.

It would be good if the league invested in their past, so that all of us, from 70s :flabbynsick: 80s, 90s and 00s babies could learn about some of these players from the past.

NBATV sucks and I don't understand the reasoning for its existence.

breh just coincidentally i caught the Hornets/Boston playoff game from 1993 :banderas::banderas: I was like sucked in. Seeing young Mourning/Larry Johnson and :flabbynsick: Mchale, it was entertaining and it was a game I knew nothing about till then. :noah::noah: I need more piff like that

And they KEEP showing the same games over and over too. I want these young cats to see lesser known players from the 70's, 80's and 90's.

For the most part, it's Celtics/Lakers & Jordan when it comes to the past as far as games being shown goes. I personally hate the fact they try their best to erase the history of the ABA but that's another story

Dr. J was just saying during his interview with Simmons that there's some kind of league mandate to not actively promote NBA history prior to like the mid-late 80's and especially 90's...for whatever reason

well they do have that nba 90's and nba80's that aired for a while, the problem with the channel is there isn't great programming on throughout the day except replays.

Like the NFL network, they need to have live tv during the day that keeps us up to date with news stories, injuries, etc. Also show replays of games that did no aire on their station that wasn't on national tv. For example they could show a replay of heat warriors at 3:30 PM andat 6 have NBA Gametime which previews, breakdowns, and dissects tonights matchups.

Or they can show important games from the particuliar date it is to keep interest high.

I wish i ran the network, i would make it better

The NBA made a conscious effort to scrub anything pre 1980 from its history, starting after the 50th anniversary team.

You dont see the older vets around, they arent mentioned in history, and if you pay attention you will see stats only referencing periods from the 80s and sooner. (eg, "Most points since 1990. Longest win streak in modern history -- starting in 1984).

THats why the work that @dantheman9758 does is important. He actually promotes the game better than the NBA does.

I saw last night that walt bellamy died and I knew he was in the hall of fame, but nothing else, I never saw him play and really know nothing about him. So Stern decided to scrub everybody else ?

i still think they need to put stars/o'brien trophy patches on uniforms, at least playoff uniforms

like one star for every title, lakers and celtics could get a bigger star for every ten titles :yeshrug:

jacked straight from soccer, but if they wanna keep expanding the popularity nationwide, it would resonate with two whole continents in south america and europe

they already did that all star jacket thing with personal accomplishments, why not just put team info on the jersey since it's already hanging in the rafters

All while the NFL promotes every facet of its history.

NFL is such a better run league it's not even funny.
