He doesn't need to anymore that is the point. His work with Coogler means every time MBJ's name is mentioned it will say Academy Award Winner.
That is enough to get him whatever he wants. He doesn't need to find anything because they will find him now. He has nothing to prove.

So if he wants to work with Coogler again, what is the problem?

Nevermind. I'm not getting through. Somehow you still think I'm anti-MBJ.

I don't think you are anti-Michael B Jordan.
I’m just wondering how you can see someone reach the pinnacle of success in their respective field and then say that they need to find another avenue for success.

That’s like saying Patrick Mahomes needs to change his style of play to validate himself after already figuring out how to win at the highest level.

I'll never forgot how I felt how his acting during his death scene in The Wire as Wallace sucked all them years ago. He's DEFINITELY gotten better since then, shyt.. he's gotten better since Fruitvale Station (his bay area "accent" was hilarious) but I don't think he's remotely Denzel Tier.

Literally nobody has ever said this. Not one human thinks he is Denzel tier.
Y'all just have to find anything that keeps y'all from being happy for somebody

:heh:

He's already surpassed Denzel

Article's headline is some bullshyt but they did get this right: he's the Black Brad Pitt :manny:

MBJ is as good as the movie he is in, but he isnt one of them cats who are generational where even if the movie is ass his performance would still be mote worthy. I would say Johnsthan Majors is in thst category where nikka be acting acting but his career seems to be over or going through that Robert Downey JR punishment phase

How are you not getting this?

Coogler is only going to release a new feature film every 3-5 years. He can't work exclusively with Ryan at that rate, so he needs to find other filmmakers that best know how to use his talent. It feels like only Ryan has unlocked his best self so far.

They are clearly looking to develop a sort of Scorsese/DeNiro pairing, but I somewhat agree. I think his best self was in Friday Night Lights and The Wire, though.

This is a not a fair comparison. MBJ was a child model and actor. His approach and ability reflects that background.

Guys like Denzel, Joe Morton, and Andre Braugher are classically trained actors who approach the craft as a painter approaches his/her canvas. Those guys are brilliant. I don't believe MBJ would ever put himself in that category. Doesn't even seem worth discussing.

He is only going to get better and I like the variety of films he's chosen so far in his career and I find him more genuine in interviews than say Will smith who seems to always be faking the happiness somehow.

You know why? Because he's not on social media all the time like Will. That's the key to being a real movie star: stay off socials.
