UKIP have now broken through into the palace of westminster. I suspect this will happen several more times before the UK general election with MP's especially from the conservative party defecting to UKIP . It means the established political parties are going to have to start listening to the people or UKIP will in the end hurt them all, not just the alleged conservative party. The left wing labour party was also hurt last night by UKIP, narrowly avoiding losing a seat themselves.

What is happening is, in the south UKIP is now a significantthreat to established conservative areas, and in the north UKIPis replacing the conservative and even the left wing liberal democrats as the opposition party against the even more left wing labour party.

To sum up what UKIP stands for

will give the British people a fair and unbiased referendum on being in the EU, Is not anti immigrant per se, it is for some types of immigrant, but wants a controlled immigration system like australia, Unlike the other main parties in fact, it believes all immigrants across the world should be given an equal chance to come to the UK if they bring something to the country, whereas the other parties discriminate in favour of white europeans who maybe less qualified than someone from africa for instance . so technically UKIP is the less racist of the bunch, never understood why UKIP is labelled racist, I suppose a made up word for them that is more accurate is euracist as under UKIP, the free movement of people within the EU to the UK would stop if the british people decided to leave the EU. That should worry americans, as it is in the interests of the US that the UK stay in the EU.

It believes in a strong defence policy, which you americans should like because it means the UK will be able to stand on it's own two feet more, and help you guys out more on an equal footing. Despite believe in strong defence it is non interventionist, it is very much against the neo liberal interventionism and the crusades championed by W bush and to blair.

The leader farage is pro putin, has spoken out openly in support of him, that should worry americans a bit, as it suggests he will not kiss US ass, like the Prime Ministers or leaders of UK political parties have before.

Tough on law and order, will build significantly more prisons. Will build a new UKborder force compromised by not just civilian manpower but retired UK military personnel, as UKIP want sot guarantee retired soldiers a job after leaving the armed forces.

Very much for referendums ,expect a further national debate on the restoration of the death penalty for instance if UKIP were to get into government in some form while farage is anti it,many senior members of UKIP are for it.

Now all that spending has to come from somewhere. and there will be significant cuts in the foreign aid budget (a 90 percent cut), and the money will also go from the EU contributions as if we leave we will no longer need to pay it. But UKIP like otherparties aren't being straight here, as I believe more money will have to be cut, as the UK has a horrendous deficit, and UKIP is proposing significant spending on top. It can be done, but other areas of spending,welfare/ nhs possibly, money for local government, will have to be cut, yet UKIP are actually softer on welfare than the tories or even labour these days,(no doubt to attract voters in poor northern areas). So I have a very big question mark over that.

But such is the anti politics feeling in the UK the small print doesn't matter right now, and I am happy that the main parties are being given a very big wakeup call. Although I do wonder if they will ever wake up as this UKIP rise has been on the cards for several years.

How do you feel about White "supremacists"/racists that are planning to use UKIP as a wedge party? Anyway, the Lib Dems have a better chance of being reelected than UKIP have of making significant gains. Their platform is easily boiled down to one agenda. That'll be their undoing.
