At the moment the thing is a portable Wii U and people are raving it's the best thing since sliced bread. Where were these people when the Wii U was out? Portability is the difference between something sucking and being great?
U sound mad bruh..its just ppls opinions :yeshrug:.....we see the potential of the switch man

Remember the Wii. The hardware couldn't handle PS3 and XB360 games so it rarely got them. The Switch demands a special amount of attention to get games from the PS4 and XBO running on it or non-demanding games like Disgaea 5.

Lots of people are distracted by the novelty of the TV to on the go play and the selling to notice but the Wii sold tons and outside of Nintendo games mostly got shovelware.

If it sells it will get quality third party support isn't necessarily true. It is especially not true when developers have to remake a game and downgrade it for the platform.

If all you want is low budget indie games and first party Nintendo titles it will deliver but if you're hoping for something more it's still a wait and see game.

The sales aren't the issue the real problem is how developers approach a console like this that requires a unique approach and that won't easily support their current efforts.
There ain't a problem. Did you miss the reports of how Nintendo went out of it's way to make the Switch easy to develop for through their partnership with Nvidia, mastered Unreal and even asked Capcom for advice about how much RAM to put in it? This is the first Nintendo platform where they prioritized ease of development for 3rd party publishers.

Another reason it's not a problem. Switch games in theory should require less development time since it's not as graphically intense as the competition. The console is designed for pick up and play gaming. Developers who simultaneously developed last gen games with next gen games will treat Switch like the former and make games for it as well once the install base is large enough (which Nintendo thinks is 10mil).

I said nothing about releasing their big name games all in one month

But where are the 3rd party games that span multiple genres and where are the 3ds developers that people speculated would be making games for this unified system

I don't know what you mean by unified, but I'm sure DS and Switch are still seperate. I was really only arguing your statement about games and not having to wait till E3 for announcements which is really what E3 is about.

As for the third party support. I only know about the DQ/Sonic/DragonBall XV game coming out. If you're hoping for those big ass AAA 3rd party titles that you see on MS and Sony like FFXV, well... Yeah.

So far I can only go by the one Atlus SMT game in the works, and the fact that at the showcase they said there's like 80 unique games from 3rd party (would have to go back and listen to the specifics of the statement)developers in the works for 2018 and the CEO I believe said there's more titles to be announced to help the sales quota to come this year.

E3 almost less than a month away.

the switch has been out only since March so it's too early to say if it's the best video game purchase you've ever made.

and why are ppl bringing up there being no games for it when it has only been out for only about 2 months??:beli:

i think knack and killzone were the only ps4 exclusives during launch and x1 had dead rising 3, forza and killer instinct. nintendo has put out zelda, mario kart 8 deluxe, bomber man, shovel knight, snipper clipper and fast RMX. if that's not your cup of tea then fine but repeating the same shyt over and over when you know what to expect from nintendo is dumb.

So does Rockstar make a special version of Red Dead Redemption 2 for the Switch? Do they downgrade the game like Watch_Dogs was on all hardware so it better runs on the Switch or do they just go with XB1, PS4, and PC?

Which seems more likely? I'd say option 3. There was a point where the Wii was the best selling home console on the market and that still didn't leverage it high quality third party titles.

My point is when it starts happening I'll believe it. Until then all I expect from this is for it to be a portable Nintendo game player with low budget indie titles.

It sounds like some of yall missed out and should have bought a Wii U. You probably would have appreciated it more than you thought you would.
A lot of them are straight lying to themselves by doing some wishful thinking.

Like I said earlier in this thread. There should be way more games announced for this thing. Games get announced for the X1 and PS4 every week.

I can see a lot of the library ending up in the Switch Eshop. the library is great. Games like Bayo2/Xenoblade Chronicles X/Tokyo Mirage Sessions/Wooly World/Paper Mario/Hyrule Warriors/Mario Marker/And that Toad Game/ and Maybe even DK tropical freeze would be great BC titles for the system.

But you see the Switch marketing compared to the Wii U. Seems like they gave up on Wii U right after they were done making Splatoon, and just milking whatever left they could out of it.

Really want one but I'm resisting paying resale Craigslist prices. They're not going for less than 375 there.

I miss Nintendo tbh. Switch is calling me. :mjcry:

Outside Xenoblade and Mario this year I'm mostly lukewarm on this lineup. Many of these are standard issue ports. I never tried Splatoon even though I bought it so I might try 2. Maybe Disgaea 5 but I beat that on the 4 already.
