Defensive back Reon Dawson had switched his commitment from Illinois to Michigan three weeks ago, and yesterday he formally signed with the Wolverines. Dawson, who lives in Trotwood, Ohio, had wanted to go to Ohio State, but the Buckeyes never offered him a scholarship. Not that it left him with any hard feelings.
From the Dayton Daily News:
"Until I die, I'm gonna be a Buckeye fan even though I'm going (to Michigan). When we play (OSU) I'm gonna still bring my ‘A' game. But, I love Ohio State."
Hoo boy. I'm sure we can expect Michigan fans to respect Dawson's honesty, to understand where he's coming from, and to treat his genuine feelings with the utmost resp—ah, shyt. I just looked at some of the comments on Yahoo's story about Dawson's remarks. Seriously, best of luck in Ann Arbor, kid.
