I think being in Miami still means something to 18 to 21 year olds but the problem with Golden is he is a very good recruiter, solid at developing talent but is TERRIBLE at X and O and getting players to play to their potential. Terrible.

Butch wasn't a good coach either, considering his bag man is banned from CF, he's not a smart hire at all. Butch is a more hard working Mack Brown without the skills to find a lot of bag man's like Mack.
solid at developing talent? don't think so

Look at the dudes in the NFL and how good they are. If you aren't good at developing talent, they will suck in the NFL as well but ours seem to do even better in the NFL. That means we develop them well. Our issue is getting them to produce and using them to their strengths here.

wait so guys underachieve while coached by him, but succeed with other coaches and Golden gets the credit?

Being misused and being developed are two different things. Look at the NBA, a lot of players go to schools where they aren't developed and come in and don't make it but then kids come from misused programs, get to the NBA and get a lot better like Westbrook. They were developed, you seen them getting better in college but they wasn't use to their strengths. That's the issue. What I am saying is Golden's players generally improve.

He recruited well at UNC and most of the guys he got were 3 star guys and a couple 4 stars guys and 2 five star guys, one that got UNC in trouble.

Herman, that nikka at Bowling Green or that nikka at Memphis.

Won't have the $$ for Chip Kelly even though i don't see any big school jobs opening this offseason. Charlie Strong would be a good choice but UT may give him another year. Miami needs a PROVEN winner. Taking a chance hire is NOT in the play anymore.

:patrice: I don't know breh, he's not a bad recruiter, but I'm not sure if I'd say he's a very good one. I know the "U" isn't quite what it used to be, but if someone can't pull talent in S. Fla, they shouldn't be a college football coach. Period.
