They are still claiming this year but I expect it to be in the $800 range due to it being first to market and it's high resolution. I'm guessing that price but they stated it will not be cheap. You'll also need at least a $1500 computer to run it properly considering it requires nearly 4k at 90fps. I'll be buying it cuz I can afford it but I don't expect it to make nearly as much noise as oculus or morpheus will.
Nah its quadhd or 2k at around 120fps. 4K will probably be in the 2nd generation.
For anyone who doesnt have a high end PC, id suggest waiting for the second generation. Oculus has said that the VR cycle will be comparable to smart phones and with advancements with screen tech, software tech, body tracking, and Field of veiw, and with the new Pascal GPU cards CV1 will probably be outdated within a year. Not to mention many developer have said that the current 2k resolution is too low and theres not enough AAA quality VR games for the CV1 launch. VR is still at its infancy
