There's zero positive other than pride. The team you're going to play at home will be like the 4th place SEC team or some weak ass ACC team. OSU could start all second stringers in the B1GCG, to get them reps, and lose on purpose and it would likely benefit them.

Too much money for the CCG to go away, so they need to figure out how to make the benefit more worth while. We'll see this year if that layoff spells dome for conference winners or not, but I believe that long layoff is NEVER good. Last year Oregon & Georgia were home getting fat over the holidays while other teams were getting hot with their biggest home games all year.

Maybe. Like you said with Oregon I think yeah that hurt them more than OSU and we used to see it a lot back in the dats when the BIG would end their seasons in Nov and not play again til January.
