Speaking of LSU, @ReturnOfJudah WTF is going on with Harold Perkins jr? 
I know last season (or before?) he was supposedly playing out of position but I haven't really seen or heard much from him. Dude was one of the best freshman I ever seen and then fall off like crazy.

He's mid. That hire was a complete head scratcher...never understood why lsu was that interested in the first place. ND immediately upgraded.
BK might get another year bc there's already 2 big job openings, one and the same conference.
Maybe I'm tweaking but I think LSU has a good chance, coming off an L, at home, at night, vs aTm
ND, Penn State, and LSU are the same job. Penn State just has tougher competition.

But LSU with 3 titles with 3 different coaches all in the last 20 seasons, coupled with access to LA/Deep South recruiting, makes me think they might have a higher ceiling
However in the NIL era maybe that access to southern recruits is less meaningful.
PSU hasn't won or competed for a title in 40 + years
Also, look at PSU's 2026 schedule and compare it to lsu's. PSU non-conf scheduling has been a joke. No OSU for the next few years. It's y'all and usc
Traditionally PSU has had Michigan and OSU which led to their constant 10-2 seasons which is basically the same result you get with nd and LSU from the Brian kelly / Marcus Freeman / Brian kelly / coach O eras.
There is like a 2 season spike from ND and LSU that differs them from Penn State. That's it. And I wasn't referring to 40 years where ND kills both of them.
Today the 3 jobs are the same and Penn State is the most difficult.

I agree that PSU job is tougher to win at, but I disagree that the schedule is harder than LSUs y2y, particularly the next few w/ no OSU.
LSU and PSU and ND have all been similar but ND has had considerably higher spikes (bcs title appearance, 4 team playoffs) than PSU and LSU's spikes were titles than includes perhaps the GOAT CFB in 2019.
PSU's biggest spike was beating OSU in 2017 in a year where OSU still made the playoffs bc PSU went on to lose to y'all and MSU
