After decade at Toledo and being passed over for regional HC jobs (e.g. sparty thrice) it was time for him to try something new. It was getting stale with the fan base too, they weren't going to fire him or anything but people thought he was becoming complacent. Losing 3 of the last 4 against BGSU, the Michigan-OSU rivalry of the MAC, isn't helping either him either.Hmm. Interesting choice for Candle. He's interviewed for big time OC/HC jobs over the years & this is the one that finally gets him up outta Toledo, eh?
Maybe it's time for a change of scenery, I suppose, but Idk what Toledo is gonna look like moving forward. In theory, they should've actually achieved more than what they did under his tenure given having the best roster in the MAC most times, but he still won at a high clip.

Vince Kehres, current DC, seems like the logical choice to succeed him at Toledo. As an Ohioan I know you know the Kehres family and Mount Union football.
The only real job offers he got were to become an OC and it was hard for him willingly give up his authority. This is probably why he still calls plays as a HC, when he should be focusing on improving his questionable game management.Ain’t no way, that nikka need to be studied, nikka squandered his time at Toledo passing on some decent jobs just to jump to UConn where it’s hard af to win at, and get talent.
Damn kinda wish Michigan would play a different SEC team in the Citrus Bowl since they played last year and playing next year, but is what it is.

Yea he LEGIT AF.. South florida was down this year, actually whole state seemed down usually the next wave is one but this jit play both ways and on another level.. He was already killing it on 7 on 7 scene with a team loaded with high end D1 talent.. ELITE
