BBC comments pearl clutching like they didnt just witness the head of FIFA placate someone with "medals of peace" at the start of the world cup...

Hypocrisy is a crazy thing.

:picard:

Some people just do not care for AFCON and will look for any reason to tarnish/pile on the competition.

I mean look at this comment below. Does this person below even follow “African” football.

We have seen teams step off in protest before from UEFA and AFC.

Senegal should be banned from international competition for a lengthy period of time for their ridiculous protest.

The referee should be banned for life.

Utter utter embarrassment for African football!

it's not a big deal and it will all blow over quickly enough.

we've seen keepers practically assault players.

we've seen teams collude to play out draws and both progress.

we heard about bribes and questionable behaviour at fifa.

blatter himself was no saint.

I'm a football casual but it really feels like Euros have falling off entertainment-wise these past tournaments. AFCON 2023 was a better watching experience than the last Euro imo (cant speak about tactics and all that, so anyone with more footbal knowledge feel free to correct me).

Nice to see Morocco get fined for the towel incidents and Hakimi getting suspended just like the Senegal players.

Yea, good they fines Morocco but tbh, Senegal should have gotten something harsher. At least a bigger fine and maybe a longer ban for Thiaw.

But good on CAF for not stripping the title. That would be too far
