With his PPV and TV debut now in the can, and his first feud seemingly still up in the air, (Jericho, Owens, Joe?), gonna start this thread as a timeline of his career in the big league. Let's get upto speed:

At 38 years, he does have a very limited lifespan, and they do get props for realizing he needs to go straight to Raw with no NXT grooming. I liked some parts about his debut, that he entered in the rumble as a 1on1 faceoff with Reigns, and that they let him do a full slow entrance. Did not like the fact that he was quickly overshadowed by the rumble match itself, and that Reigns defending his title from a million dudes was still the main story. If his feud is indeed Owens, would have like Owens to win the IC belt at Rumble, cut a heel promo, then AJ interrupt with his debut and a faceoff/brawl.

Raw was okay, got a backstage promo and win against a respected vet. Would be very disappointed if they go with the Jericho heelturn feud, want to see him in a story with someone in their prime. Was excited when Steph announced the Fastlane main event was triple threat. Reigns v Ambrose v Styles would have been sick. Obviously he would have to lose and goto a feud out of the title picture, but after his reaction at Rumble, why not use that superbuzz and get him some main event rub straight away.

Also would not be mad at Samoa Joe debuting and interrupting a Styles match at next Raw, but hey WWE would never acknowledge their past history, so would be pointless feud right?

Your thoughts so far, and your ideas about how to use him going forward?

you know they want his ass in that money in the bank match, if they still do that at wrestlemania.

i havnt watched a mania in years. just started following the wwe again last summer.

otherwise, he's probably gonna take that u.s. title from kallisto.

He's still fluid like a much younger man in the ring. Lawler was going extra hard about "how he needs to prove himself in the WWE because nothing else counts" on smackdown commentary.

im heavily managing my expectations with how they'll handle AJ.

He's kinda "small for WWE", is NOT a Vince creation and has a distinctive southern accent (we know how Vince is about that)

He's gonna deliver the goods in ring of course but I'm so reluctant to get excited about any character development/angles and I really hate that they've made it that that convo has to be had upon known wrestler debuts.

Sad but true. They've got this guy on a silver platter. It's such a rare thing where they can bring established stars in with the same name, the same look, his whole brand that everyone knows him for. So that whole fanbase that he's got is already behind him. They don't need to build him, or force him upon the fans, they already embrace him to the fullest. They should be propping him up the highest they can on the card, and if the fans continue to genuinely rock with him, let him goto the moon.

He should have his feud started on Monday, and having him beat jobbers like this on Smackdown to get fans "introduced" to him really does nothing to take advantage of this situation.

fukk all that "he's never accomplished anything because he wasn't in the WWE" shyt. He's been all over the fukkin world and doing this for years, that mindset they have about guys they didn't create has to die a long overdue death. They should kick themselves in the ass for all the money they threw way over the years with that dumb shyt.

Wwe always does this. They do their warped narrative of how a wrestler`s accomplishments throughout their careers means very little to nothing if it wasn't accomplished in the wwe.

Aj have already been against some of the best talent and he had already wrestled some of the biggest names in wrestling history.

They need to just go ahead and let him compete for either the intercontinental or us belt. Let him fued ko or maybe kalisto.

He's better than this starter kit bs they got him on now.
