If he stays the job is his next year, they didn't pay Salter to come in for Juju to start, and Salter didn't come there under the premise of spending his last year sitting behind Juju. Now if Salter is a flat out bum and gets benched then that's a different story, but the plan was never for Juju to be QB1 his first year as a reclassed kid.
Damn Staub starting this week.

Idk I think two games is too early to pull the plug on Salter. He doesn't have chemistry and just learned the offense.

But the offense moved with Staub.

Nick Saban is the only coach I've seen do this recently. He sat Milroe vs South Florida and let the two backups try to win the job. Neither one was good and he went back to Milroe.

We'll see how it goes with Staub..

Bruh it ain't about what you think I do or don't know.

If I read recruiting reports that say the kid was choosing Colorado because Deion told him he was gonna get a lot of burn then I'm gonna take them at face value.

Maybe the reports were wrong. Who knows.

Prime doesn’t promise playing time. Everyone in this thread knows that.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I disagree with the move. We'll see how it goes

Salter isn't accurate. He's never been accurate. He's a running QB, and wasn't really asked to be a pure passer at Liberty. They could've/should've beaten Ga Tech and they wasn't moving the balled against a team that just moved up to FBS. Coach Prime is in year 3. They need to stack wins this year. He can't afford to lose games they should win.

The talent level says 8-4/9-3 for his tenure there

I doubt they play .500 ball or lesser going forward

My thing is this entire process was fukked.
Why bring in Salter if you're not going to drastically change your system.
Why not bring in a QB that fits your system.
Why spend an entire camp with Salter/Juju getting the most reps just go to your 3rd string QB after week 1.

I get people saying Juju isnt ready. Obviously hindsight, but he could have got majority of the reps. Take the lumps and feel he'll be much better by the end of the year.

Imo they should have just let him play most of the Delaware game. If bombs the entire game then go to Staub as he's clearly not ready. To let two drives of his college football career determine that is just wild to me. Would it been a wrap for Bryce Underwood if he had two stalled drives?

Deion not having Shedeur was going to be an adjustment but damn.

Salter would be fine if he could throw accurately beyond 10 yards and was more decisive. It would make CU’s air raid attack even more explosive. However, he’s been a flop.

Maybe he was doing it in practice, but the spotlight hits differently.

lol at comparing Juju and Bryce. Bryce is physically built for big 10 play right now.

I figured Salter would get one more start but if he continued on in game 3 of not even being able to complete more than 1 or 2 passes downfield that WR room might have revolted lol. WR is the one position they've nailed since Deion got there, you can't have all those WRs and a QB that can't pass downfield or in the middle of the field.

Yes. However, Im saying based on how Prime approached the game/camp.

If he decided not to start a true freshman (insert another top 10 QB recruit), he played two subpar drives does he immediately go to Staub and stick with Staub no matter what.

He should have played until the 4th. If its looking dicey then go another route. To preplan going to your 3rd string QB is a baffling choice. Happy it worked out, but it also could have been perfect timing of inferior Delaware eventually breaking down.

Maybe Im a little bit jaded cause when I watch the Well Off Media vids it doesnt look like Staub is doing all that well in practice.

At the end of the day, everyone is on a short leash. At every position. That’s been the theme since he got there. Salter did the same thing LaJohntay Wester did. He came to Colorado to try and improve his draft stock. He ended up playing better than players already there.

Salter was given the keys, but he’s only going to be there for one season. So he needed to play perfect. And he probably came in thinking he was a lock, but there are quarterbacks who have transferred from bigger programs and flamed out. Happens all the time.

Yeah I think people are overthinking. Prime is going to retain and go after the best talent possible, and play the players that perform the best. That’s all it is.

Transferring your senior year when you’re a successful starter at your prior school is one of the riskiest things you can do. You either going to improve your stock up like Cam Ward, or destroy it like DJ Uiagalelei.

Well Prime hasn’t officially confirmed it. However, I just don’t see Salter starting against Houston. Dude is averaging 5 yards per pass.

The more I listen to Prime’s post game interviews, the more I’m convinced that this is what he wanted. He just needed politically justify the decision, especially a position as important as the QB position. Who knows what type of shyt he deals with behind the scenes.

I believe it. He was happy as well when Staub got that TD on the first drive.
